The MultiLight is an Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) system that produces a variety of wavelengths of light for treating the skin. By using wavelengths that are absorbed by the pigment of the undesired spot, the MultiLight breaks the pigment into smaller pieces. Some pieces are absorbed by the body and some move to the surface of the skin. This makes the spot look darker for 5 to 14 days, until the skin flakes off naturally. The spot will continue to fade for up to 4 to 8 weeks, and can be retreated. More than one treatment may be needed. The IPL feels like a rubber band snap.
